MAHE Curriculum Fair and Used Book Sale

Tuesday, April 29th at Zion United Methodist Church

FYI--The Curriculum Fair/Used Book Sale date is April 29th.  Come and see what other curriculum people use.  Check out and be a part of the Used Book Sale.  The book sale will be done the same way it was done last year. Items  to be sold can be school books, home school support books, reference books or fiction books, educational videos, educational DVDs, learning games, educational CD-ROMs, etc. Items for the sale will need to be dropped off before the beginning of the fair. Each item to be sold will have an index card attached to it that lists the name of the seller, asking price, and availability date. After browsing through and choosing the items she would like the buyer would then proceed to the cashier. If the availability date for the item is April 24th then the buyer would pay for the item(s) and take it home with them. If the item is not yet available the buyer will enter their name and contact information on the back of the index card. The seller will get these items back after the sale and can contact the buyers and arrange payment and delivery. Sellers are responsible for either picking their items up after the fair or making arrangements to have them picked up. Within a week of the sale sellers will get a check from MAHE for the items they sold. If you’ve ever been to WPA, this is how they do their used book sale. The nice thing about doing it this way is if you are still using a text book but know you’ll be done with it in June you can list the availability date as June and finish using it for the year. If you’d like to put items in the sale, please contact Inga or Darla and let them know. They don’t need an itemized list of what is being sold but a general idea of how many tables they’ll need to have is appreciated.

Swimming

The Best Western in Marshfield has been generous in offering MAHE members a discounted rate of $2.00 to swim in their pool. You do not need to be a guest of the hotel. All you need to do to get the reduced rate is present your MAHE membership card at the front desk when you pay. The pool is open to the public daily. Hotel guests do get first priority of course. There is not a posted lifeguard so swimming is at your own risk. If you do take advantage of the swimming, please remember their kindness to us and be sure to say Thank you! We will also be planning several group swim days. Dates will be on the Calendar

Book It

Book-It is for students in grades K-6. The teacher/parent sets the reading requirement for each month for the child to earn a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut; the program runs from October to March
